More About Me
After having an incredible home birth with my own daughter, I was quickly hit by the freight train that is postpartum. The long line of support I thought I had, suddenly ran dry and I was faced with the reality that I needed help to navigate this intense and all-new phase of life. In this struggle is where I found my passion for birth work, and more importantly, community. I didn't have to look very far to see that my experience was the majority, NOT the minority. How could that be? If so many of us are struggling in the exact same ways, why are we all still out in the cold? This was a moment of clarity, of just how broken the care system was not only in the obvious ways through pregnancy and birth, but also in postpartum, a time when softness and community felt like it should be a non-negotiable.
This realization quickly and without question brought me to birth work! Birth and postpartum are sacred, this space when a person becomes a parent is a space that deserves to be guarded fiercely and respectfully.
As your doula, it is my goal to empower you with knowledge about your experience and your choices, guard your space with love and honor, and walk hand in hand with you into this incredible new season of life. Birth leaves no one as it found it, and why would it? The old you simply cannot do this new job you are facing, let me support you and carry some of this load. It would be an honor.
